Me and the City
Ok, so last night was Missys bachelorete party. We went to the Avalon (which I think used to be the Limelight), anyways it was fun we rolled down there in a limo and had vip entrance, a skybox, waitress, bottles of alcohol mixers, and a private bathroom, a private bathroom in a NYC club is priceless.
In the limo on the way down, we were completely silly! I suggested we play debutantes I was Nicole Ritchie, and Missy was Paris Hilton, and Liz was Mary-Kate, or Ashley. I cant remember. Then I wanted to play Sex and in the City, b/c we were going there but no one wanted to play. I think its b/c they all have siblings, only children like myself then to still have a wild imagination which comes from always having to amused yourself. The driver was great I cant remember his name though so I referred to him as Niles (like from the Nanny) all night (not to his face though)
After the show the club was full of club kids. It reminded of raves that Ive been to with Addie in the past. It made me want to play Dance Revolution.
I never realized how sheltered people from around here could be. Most of these girls said theyve never been to the city at night!! Ive been going to the city since like forever, and I think my first solo, well non-parental ventures were at night (sorry mama If your reading this, technically I was at Ashleys house, at some point we just didnt hang out there)
The city just makes so much sense to me. Its hard to get lost, theres so many ways to get around. I miss it. I miss the culture, diversity, and dirty hot dogs from street vendors, (although lord only knows what there floating in.) Going down there somehow put me in check. I guess I caught the motivation bug. Im not being judgmental by writing that I guess things that are so common to my life isnt what everyone elses is.
We saw a burlesque show that was going on when we arrived. It was awesome; I love the style of burlesque dancing. Its so artsy yet sensual.
This is the real definition, from dictionary.com
- A literary or dramatic work that ridicules a subject either by presenting a solemn subject in an undignified style or an inconsequential subject in a dignified style. See Synonyms at A ludicrous or mocking imitation; a travesty: The antics of the defense attorneys turned the trial into a burlesque of justice.
- A variety show characterized by broad ribald comedy, dancing, and striptease.
I liked the show; I think that some of the girls just didnt understand it.
It was amusing though, woman in drag, and men in drag. And size defiantly doesnt matter, I talking about weight. I would like to try it, but Im too self-conscious. I want to see the Pussy Cat Dolls perform, but there show is in LA. Carmen Electra is in it and they always have guest performers like Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguliera, Britney Spears, and a bunch more.
Anna Nicole looks awesome, I just saw the new Trim Spa commercial. La-la-ba-da-da Trim Spa BABY!!! When she says that it kinda irritates me.
Ok, I wrapping this up and posting. I got some new scrap booking stuff today and I want to play.
Love Ya! Bye!
Wait, a few days ago I posted something about how Ill never see my gray track pants again. Well I just realized that my really cute bathing suit is at Dans house b/c he has a pool so I would leave it there. Damn it! It was so cute I got it at Kohls on sale.
